I had the great opportunity to attend and represent Iowa State at the Okoboji Entrepreneurship Institute, a week-long entrepreneurship bootcamp and Iowa’s premier entrepreneurship event, during the second week of August. I learned valuable business and entrepreneurship insights from Iowa’s top business owners. The event was hosted in Okoboji, and the sense of community there is truly unmatched.
A recurring theme throughout the week was the importance of persistence, which is key to being a successful entrepreneur. This is something I apply in my work with The Brik, herdmate.app, and Scalar News.
I also had the chance to connect with other student entrepreneurs from colleges across Iowa, and it was inspiring to meet like-minded individuals. It pays to go above and beyond, and that’s especially evident in entrepreneurship.
While I was sad to leave Okoboji, I’m excited about the future and the goals I’m striving to achieve.
