This summer, I had the opportunity to intern at Principal Financial Group as a Software Engineer Intern.
I worked on building tools for actuaries and gained valuable exposure to the actuarial space, while also learning how to write production-level code in a professional environment. I also had the chance to dive deeper into the software development lifecycle at a large corporation, something I had never experienced before.
During my internship, I worked with Java, TypeScript, Next.js, Spring, AWS, Wiz, and many other tools and frameworks, which gave me a well-rounded technical experience.
A highlight of the summer was being a finalist in the Intern CodeJam, where my team placed in the top 5 for building a retirement dashboard packed with innovative features.
