announcing my retirement from hackathons… after LAHacks.
it’s been a crazy run.
coming into college, i didn’t even really want to be a CS major. it felt abstract, kinda disconnected from anything real.
hackathons changed that completely.
they showed me how to actually build. how the concepts we learn in class turn into real products, real ideas, real impact before we even graduate.
that shift was everything for me.
hackathons didn’t just make me better technically. they made me more confident taking ideas from 0 to 1.
LAHacks (lmk if you're gonna be there) feels like the right place to close this chapter.
now i’m focused on building things that last longer than a weekend. products, startups, stuff that can actually scale.
i’ll still show up for the occasional “build for good” or charity hackathon (shoutout to dsmhack. check them out) after college, but competitively, this is it.
if you’re on the fence about doing a hackathon. just go. it might completely change how you see what you’re capable of.
onto the next chapter.
